Despite the upheaval over the last few days, Kat was still looking forward to the evening. She wasn't sure what Miranda was planning but she'd told her sister to not hide in her room and join her and Victor. She wouldn't pressure Miranda to go out, not now, but would still want her sister to have some company.
She hadn't moved the game systems after she'd gotten them out for her sister so the impressive collection still sat under the main television, ready to be used. She had one of every brand, the latest when she could afford it, and all customized to her preference. She knew it made her a giant nerd, but she couldn't care. These were the things she liked, and she'd earned them all through her own money.
Because this year had company beyond her sisters she'd put on the red shirt that flattered her best and made a few snacks. She was nothing like her mother or Victor, but she was still pretty good. She liked this better then going to noisy bars or music filled homes of people. This was comfortable and relaxed.
So when she heard the door she went and opened it and smiled to Victor. "Hi there. Come in, take a seat." She was still conscious of his wound.
