Notes: Putting this up now as tomorrow starts my lovely long week of work...

The police had been on the lookout for the missing little girl, but with the mother in hysterics it was hard to know where to begin an investigation. They had her picture up on watch, but without a solid story from the mother it was a losing case. Greed hadn't returned it, it was his bargaining chip at getting to see Zoe without suspicion. It didn't mean he hadn't left a trail of discord. Whenever he plucked living things from their usual environment his bread crumbs were invisible, but the damage was solid. In little over a week the husband of the scatterbrained mother had moved out, split their bank accounts and had started to believe that his wife had drug their child off to die. There was hardly any one that believed otherwise. Even her fellow church goers had started to doubt her credibility.

Meanwhile Greed had dragged the kid home like a lost puppy, much to Lust's dismay. As long as her darling boy was happy, bouncy even and kept his mind off the mortal girl who had drug him into a ruin of 'feelings' she had become lax on the baby toy. As far as Greed knew she had no idea that his 'nanny' was in fact the girl he'd spilled about. He lied to her every day Zoe left, but was starting to lose the restraint on the glow he had whenever the girl came to the door. Eventually, Lust would find out. Eventually, Zoe would learn of Lust and what her role really was for Greed, but for now he was suiting himself up for a date.

Ava was not devoid of pretty and expensive clothes. Her yellow dress was a striking contrast against Greed's suit and glasses. Under the expensive outerwear no one would even think to look for the little girl.

He may not be able to hold Zoe's hand or smooch on her in public, but it was getting to venture out without suspicion that he was eating up. He bounced Ava on his arm for a time before he grew tired and threw her to Zoe. No one would ever suspect that he was a deadly sin, she his girlfriend or that they both strolled down the street with a stolen baby.

Zoe cuddled Ava, admittedly growing attached to the baby even though she knew she'd have to be returned soon. She didn't agree with Greed kidnapping the child but she didn't want to stomp too much on his Sin-ness. The girl was healthy and happy and from what she'd learned from the church people she was getting more attention and love now than she had been before. It didn't make it right but Zoe's own lack of parents made her want people who still had their kids to appreciate them.

"You're better dressed than I am." she said to the pudgy bundle and kissed her cheek as the little girl played with her locket. Lust still scared the crap out of her but her interactions with the woman were limited, but it was hard to hide her own elation whenever she saw Greed or how her smile warmed when he did some small thing for her. But even when they walked down the street, she tried to keep distance, but her arm was always brushing against his, when they'd be waiting, she'd lean against him a little without realizing it, just several small tiny signs that this wasn't quite the professional relationship they were trying to make it seem.

She really liked being able to go out with Greed even if they couldn't be a real couple, they knew they were in a relationship and it was enough for her. So far no Virtues had tried to bust them up and none of his siblings really knew the truth so tried to stop them. It was oddly peaceful and.. happy.

The baby wasn't dead yet, which spoke well of what Zoe was teaching him on taking care of something without suffocating it. Eventually, he would grow tired of taking care of it. The baby didn't talk, it liked him, but there was only so much entertainment it would provide him. Once her newness wore off he'd stash it back on the church footsteps.

Ava clapped her hands and tugged on Zoe's hair. "I coulda have just bought you the uniform," Greed said with a snort. "Though the one I was looking at might have been a little too revealing." Zoe was more awkward about things, which was a nice switch from girls who pushed their boobs into his face. He liked that too, but he liked her quirkiness.

	"Does that mean if I buy it you'll wear it just for me?" He put his hand to his chest. "I'm touched, really," he started to fake a tear, choking up his voice. After the silly display he cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses. "Consider it a birthday present I never got." The dress was simple, classy and his favorite shade of yellow. 	"Oh Greed, such hurtful words," Satan said, swanning over to the fat little baby and cooing at it. It had the added benefit of putting Satan slightly between Greed and his girlfriend. "Aren't you an adorable little kidnapping victim?" Satan said, wiggling her fingers in the baby's face before turning to Zoe. "And you! I don't think I've seen you before." 	"I'm sure," Satan said, offering an entirely insincere smile. "Because he's usually so good with people." She turned back to Greed, smiling at the still-fussy baby. 	"Don't run, human," Satan said, her teeth just a little sharper than normal when she smiled at Zoe. "Sparks those predatory instincts, you know." Turning back to Greed, she said, "I move in mysterious ways, dear. Although while we're talking about it, do you think I should torture Gluttony or not? I did charbroil him, after all."
