Victor had asked her to dress casually, that they'd be doing something fun and energetic and she'd been rather relieved. She could dress up, she just didn't like to. Putting up make up was a hassle, one she was glad to go without.
So she'd put on her gym shoes and a shirt she liked and comfy jeans and when he'd buzzed she'd gone downstairs and told her sister she was going out. Because she loved Miranda, but she didn't quite need her big sister's smug 'I told you' just yet.
She closed her door and smiled at him, "hey." She was a little nervous but she pushed it away. The very worst that would happen was that they'd remain friends. Not a bad thing, really. She drew her scarf tighter around her and set her hands in her pockets. "So, any clues on where we're going or is this a mystery?"

The black t-shirt he was wearing under his jacket, and his jeans were perfect for what he had in mind. He didn't think Kat would like a fancy dinner or anything like that, so he had planned something much different. He only hoped it wasn't a terrible flop. He was nervous too, but he tried to hide it.
Victor grinned at her and he led her to this car as he chatted. "I could offer you a hint," he said cagily. "We're going to two different places, actually."

"Which is unfair when only one of us has great deducting skills." She let the car warm her up a bit before she buckled up. "So envious you have a car by the way. Public transportation is such ass. Not that I'd enjoy driving in this crazy city."
Then she grinned, "so how's tricks?"

[info]sciomachy 2012-11-25 03:40 am (local) (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Victor started the car up and pulled away from the curb. "I wouldn't have a car really, except the force requires it. If they call us in, they don't want us taking public transport." He shrugged. It was convenient but parking was not always easy to find.
"Things are fine! I spent a great deal of the morning trying to explain to my partner how to act human because I think he was born without the ability to do so. How are classes?"

[info]shades_of_fate 2012-11-25 03:52 am (local) (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Well that's silly. How dare they use logic like that," she smirked at that, "although I'm always weighing the pro's and cons for a car. The best con so far is I couldn't afford it if I wanted to." She knew her folks may help, but she didn't want to bother them. She was fine so far.
"He sounds like a kicker. How did that end up going?" she sighed and pushed her hair from her eyes, "dragging. Finals are coming up so they are trying to cram all of the knowledge into our brains. I had to scrap a paper I had to do because I was writing it in a different language. And this was for Computer Science so that didn't end up well. I'll be glad when holidays are here. I'll get to relax."
"And I was totally serious about the turkey by the way. Way too much." she studied where they were going, trying to figure out where he was taking her.

[info]sciomachy 2012-11-25 03:57 am (local) (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "They are expensive," Victor agreed as he manoeuvred the streets of New York. He found he liked it when he didn't have to do it at breakneck speed much more.
"Oh I don't think anything I tell Michael will ever actually sink in," Victor said with a chuckle. It was obvious he enjoyed his partner despite the man's strangeness.
"Oh my goodness, you were writing a paper in a different language!?" Victor knew several languages, but he had never accidentally used the wrong one. Of course, he had never been to university either. "And I would love some turkey."

[info]shades_of_fate 2012-11-25 04:27 am (local) (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select She'd never really liked New york traffic and it showed a little. She was valiantly trying not to be the worst kind of side seat driver though, even if the other people worried her at times.
"Still, he sounds like you're good friends with him, despite how he seems to act. And some people are like that you know. Terribly good at their jobs, terribly awful at being humans. too focused on one thing. Maybe he does it so he can block some of it out you know? So it doesn't get to him?" She shrugged, "I would."
"I'll get you some when we head back. And in my defense I was sleepy. And it was Greek. We all learned from an early age so I was half way through it when I realized it. I vented anger by stabbing people." she realized what she said and grinned, "only pixelated people though, I swear! That'd be the worst sort of date, getting to drive me to your office."
