WHO: Kymopoleia & Briareos
WHEN: Friday evening
WHERE: A bar somewhere
WHAT: Happy little sea godling
WARNINGS:

Kymopoleia couldn't even remember the last time she'd felt this good. It had been a long time but the recent storm, while being awful for many of the mortals of the city, had been the best thing for the goddess of violent sea waves. It gave her a high, that true show of nature, and it had stripped away the fears and discomforts that Kymopoleia had been living through.

At the bar tonight the layers of clothing her gone, returning her to the barely there outfits of the past that made men make offers aplenty to 'warm her up.' Her hair was still red but, freshly dyed, it was no longer a disguise from her father. It was a symbol, to Ky, of her disconnection from Poseidon. She wasn't his daughter, not ever again. She was a red thing, a burning sea serpent, and if Poseidon came near her she'd bite like one of those sea snakes he despised.

She was laughing tonight, playing pool with a group of men and hoping to earn a little money from it. But the chances weren't good. She was decent at pool, but not that good. A familiar tingle came across her spine and she turned, with a flick of long red hair, to look at Briareos as he entered.

"Like your balls?" Kymopoleia suggested with a flutter of her eyebrows. "Because if you keep thinking the way you are," she informed him, "then I'm going to cut them off with a broken bottle." The smile wasn't sweet anymore. The smile belonged to a shark. "I promise."

"Yeah, right." The guy threw out as if that kind of half-assed threat was actually going to stick. He was standing between two sea gods. In a recently half-flooded city. He didn't stand a chance.

Briareos didn't attack for sport though, only if his survival was threatened. With the new surge of power just from the hurricane waters alone, he wouldn't be so weak. He fed of hate just as easily. So, Kymopoleia's toying was a bit of a surge.

He had also been at the end of her attacks before. As he wasn't the strong hundred hand Titan from before, she had bested him many times--but her hate wasn't toward him. Not now. Briareos gave her straight face, only his eyes shined as the drunk slapped him a third time. This guy was definitely invading his space.

Kymopoleia stepped towards the man and looked at him, her face expressionless. "I'm not interested in that little thing you have in your pants," she told him. "And you're gonna want to stop touching my friend. He doesn't like that very much."

The drunk laughed. "This guy?" Briareos was stunned by her introduction, but he didn't budge. That was until the drunk took another attempt to invade his space and Briareos snapped. The pool stick was whipped around, pinning the guy back on the table. He pressed the wood into his chest. "Back off." It was defensive yes, maybe even some laden aggression at what Poseidon had tried to do to him and he not having the power to fight back.

He would fight back this time.

Kymopoleia laughed softly. "I'm just itching to cause some damage," she told the boys. "Just give me the tiniest reason to start something. Please do." She liked this bar, but there were other bars around she could move to after getting kicked out. And, besides, this one wasn't a stranger to violence.

The man heard a crack which he thought was the pool stick crushed against him, but when a searing pain hit he realized it was one of his ribs. There was something scary in the way Briareos looked into his eyes, as if he were draining the life out of him.

The skin under Briareos' tank seemed to move, his tattoos coming to life, the drunk thought he was crazy. He cried out, blinking again as the tentacles on the squid across Briareos' chest unrolled. "Shit man what's wrong with you?" He asked scared. There were arms Briar had lost that wanted to grow back.

One of the buddies came up to Ky. "Shit, he's your friend make him stop! He's gonna kill him!"

"I have a confession," Kymopoleia said. Then she punched the man in the throat and slammed him against the nearest wall. "He's not really my friend."

Things got a bit blurry for her after that, she only knew that she was punching and scratching and laughing. That others tried to stop the sea gods and that there was blood all over her hands, up her arms, across her face. There was something like the old days about this, when Briareos had made the storms and Kymopoleia had brought violence to the waves. That had been her role and she'd known it well. Even if she'd hated Briareos, even if he'd made her hard and cruel and sharp, she had liked that part. Because it was sending that violence on to someone else.

Then there was sirens and Ky shot a look towards Briareos to see if he'd heard them as well. She needed to get out of here and she wasn't waiting around for him.

They may not have ever been on the same team before, but they had their roles. The smell of blood and hate was as prominent under his veins as it was her own. He was still in that mindset that he had to defend himself and this time was not going to be buried in a hole without a way out. He would not keep feeling like that.

His hits were as powerful as the hurricane had been herself, building up his strength until there was nothing left for them to play with. Briareos heard the same sounds taking his jacket from the side of the pool table and making an escape. He felt stronger than he had in an extremely long time.

Grabbing her own coat, Ky darted towards the door but was grabbed by someone trying to stop her. "Fuck off!" she hissed, headbutting the man. It surprised him enough that he loosened his grip and Kymopoleia slithered free. Thank the Gods for making her such a tiny slip of the thing.

Outside the air was cold on her lungs but Kymopoleia didn't mind that. She used to breathe water - what was a little chill air compared to that?

When they stopped running - in a filthy half-flooded alley blocks away - Kymopoleia was panting, only able to breathe through her mouth and sure that her bloody nose was broken. (Either from the headbutt or a punch not long before it.)

Shoving on his jacket Briareos was quick behind her, stalking the shadows like the big Titan he used to be and not at all like the lithe man he was now. He twisted his shoulders around, feeling those cut off limbs trying to branch their way out again, like a lizard that had lost it's tail.

His knuckles were bloody, his own face spattered in a combination of his own fluids and others.

"Your nose," he pointed out catching his breath.

Kymopoleia reached up to touch it gingerly, grimacing as she did. "Broken," she said. "I had to headbutt a guy on the way out. Probably did it then."

Ky figured Briareos should recognise a broken nose on her anyway. He'd been the cause of them before.

She sucked a breath through her teeth and smiled, looking back down towards the mouth of the alley. "What a rush!"

Briareos wiped away the blood caked on his mouth, already crusting against the cold wind. He couldn't help but stare at Ky, she had always been a beautiful thing to something that didn't understand beauty.

"Like before. It felt like it used to." That meant a lot to a claustrophobic once Titan.

Looking back to Briareos she noticed his look and her brows drew together. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Ky asked, and the warning was clear in her voice.
