Together they had watched as the weather outside their windows (the ones they hadn't boarded up) got steadily worse. Patrick found himself intensely glad that Clio was with him instead of at her own place. Instead of panicking about how she was doing, she was here and he could see she was safe.

They had had power most of the night, but eventually they lost it too. When the apartment went dark, Patrick found their LED lanterns and candles and soon the place was swathed in dim light. Then he retrieved the heavy blankets they had in case of emergency or guests and he wrapped one around himself before going to wrap one around Clio. "Here, for warmth."
