WHO: Eros and Psyche
WHEN: Saturday night
WHERE: Their place
WHAT: Eros needs some mind control because he's whacked out and on edge.
WARNING: TBD

Eros was feeling alone. After the previous weekend, the darkness had toyed with that. There had been a time when he'd first fallen for Psyche that she'd been tricked into thinking he was a monster. Of course he was a beautiful youth, but there was a devious side of Eros that came out when he'd been hurt or bastardized in front of others. Being told that his show was canceled was definitely a shot in the foot.

He'd walked off the set, dragging his belongings with him in a backpack. He'd been messing up arrows for the last week, purposefully making everything go wrong because the bad mood he was in was reflected in the arrows he let fly. Today was no different. As he stepped onto the subway car with the hood of his jacket pulled over his eyes, he watched the people who got aboard with him. There was a couple that sat just across from him, young and obnoxious with their sweet kisses and happy giggles. Usually, Eros jumped with this sort of thing, it made him giddy. Now it was almost as if the idea of love was a poison in his system. The two would be arguing by the time he stepped off the train and headed home. Hopefully Psyche sent Hedone home because she wouldn't like seeing her daddy in this kind of mood.

Psyche sighed, nodding to his answer. The most she remembered of that last weekend was wrapping her arms around Hedone and singing to her so that the darkness didn't get to her daughter. It would have been easy for anyone to forget exactly how things had gone down.

She frowned again, "She wouldn't be at all pleased with how you're behaving." She reached over and put her hand on his and added quickly, "I don't blame you. It had to have been the darkness." Psyche could feel how dark Eros' soul had become and it was unnerving. "Why exactly do you feel ignored? And who do you think is ignoring you?"

"My whole family," he said bitterly. "Even Ante." Now this with his show. He felt a bit useless. What would his mother be able to do with such an annoyed child. Like this, Eros couldn't be a harbinger of love. "Everything I touch turns angry." His arrows were curses and of lead instead of love and gold.

Psyche smiled, "Surely not everyone. But if that's how you feel you need to confront them, especially your mother because I know how close you two are." She sat back, considering him as she thought. "I know you don't want your mother to see you like this but she may be the only one who can help. Your purpose is to spread love and who better to go to than Love herself? Something dark is infecting your soul and I don't like it one bit, but even Soul herself can't fix every damaged soul there is."

"It feels like everyone." All too busy for him. "Mother is busy." He knew he needed someone to pull him out of this. "I was certain you could fix this," he was crushed that he couldn't. "As many times as I've helped you, you can't do this?" He hoped later she wouldn't hold that against him, Eros had not ever been so cross with her before.

"Your mother is always busy but you've never made an excuse not to go see her," she said matter-of-factually. But then the turn of events was surprising. She sat there looking at him, stunned and hurt he would pull something like that. Oh her. Maybe on someone else, but her? Her expression was quite dangerous but she continued to keep her calm, "Don't you ever pull that on me again. I have never, nor will I ever, forget the things you've done to help me. But you need to be reminded of all the times I've helped you, apparently. I will do what I can and in your condition it'll probably take some time, but if I can't help you you'd better go to your mother." She stood up then and took their cups to the sink.

It had been too long since Eros had had so many of his siblings around, he forgot how strong jealousy could run. How much of an only child he'd always wanted to be. He loved his siblings, he loved having companionship. The darkness really plucked something within him that he'd not been around for the last time.

He smacked his head with the butt of his palm. "I'm sorry Psyche..." he was freaking out just a little. He had a vindictive streak, he'd pulled curses before but only in teaching those that disrespected love a lesson. Now it was as if that had all turned inside out and he was the one disrespecting it.

Psyche didn't enjoy arguments. They tended to be uncomfortable and while her first instinct was to run, she always stayed to talk it out. But right now she really didn't like the things being said, especially when Eros had tried to guilt trip her. Speaking honestly didn't always turn out well, but it was what she did best.

"You're not yourself right now," she said, though not outright forgiving him. She was trying to shrug it off as she rinsed the cups and set them carefully into the dishwasher. "Go to sleep, or try. I'll see what I can do, but I can't promise it'll help."

He wasn't sure if he'd meant to say it or not. He wasn't himself, but he felt guilty for having said it. He'd never pulled that on Psyche before, he'd never been more than happy to help her because he loved her that much.

Right now...he wasn't in love. He wasn't as cheerful or happy. It had to sting for her as much as he hated seeing it happen. He stood with a nod, kissing her on the cheek even though he was pulling a front and went to their room to lay down. He wasn't sure he could even sleep.

Psyche made no movement to return the kiss. In it she felt absolutely nothing. Somehow she had always felt how much he loved her and right now she didn't feel a thing. It burned and stung and twisted horribly in her heart to feel nothing.

She just stared at the sink for a moment as she heard him walk away to their room. Psyche would not be going to bed that night. Instead, she settled on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest, concentrating with all the effort she could muster. It wouldn't be until the early morning hours that she would fall asleep from exhaustion, trying for hours to turn his soul back to what it should be. She felt it fighting all night and it hurt her to no ends because it would usually bend so easily to her will. She was sad and hurt.
