Who: Skoll and Sol
When: Wednesday afternoon
Where: Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Ratings/warnings: tbd
Ever since Sol's realization that Mani wasn't there she felt lost. Completely lost, and completely alone. Now the idea to just let the wolf have her and be done with it was her first and foremost thought. She wondered constantly if she should just give in. Should she just let him catch her? The loudest part of her conscious said no, but there was that tiny voice that said she might as well. She had nothing to live for except fear and panic. And that was a crappy lifestyle.
What made her legs carry her to this garden and had made her decide to sit down on this particular bench with her back against the armrest and her knees pulled tightly to her chest, she didn't know. She vaguely remembered seeing something about the Natural History exhibition that was still going. The are looked interesting. It was all made from natural sources.
She had been staring at one work of art for what felt like hours now. She wasn't even admiring it. She was just analyzing how long it would be before he came, wondering how long these fake elephants had before they were torn down. People had come and gone and Sol just sat, ignoring them all. She was waiting for her hunter to come and take her life.

Ever since he'd almost caught her, Skoll had constantly been on the lookout for Sol. He wanted his Sun, dammit, if he had to scour the entire city to find her.
He'd been out wandering the city, not on the hunt exactly, but keeping an eye out for her anyway, when he felt it. It wasn't a scent, exactly, more like a sense, but Skoll trusted it anyway. He followed the feeling, willing to let it take him wherever it wanted. Because he knew his Sun would be at the end of it.
He entered the Garden, scanning around, until he found her sitting on a bench. She wasn't moving, it didn't look like she was even breathing. But he sat down next to her, following her gaze. The elephants were nice enough, he supposed, but that wasn't why he was there.
"Hello, little Sun," he said quietly.

Even though she had felt him before his initial approach she gave no sign of acknowledgment. She had tensed up the moment she saw him and even drew her legs in more closely, if that was possible.
Her heart was pounding and all she could was I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die.
Why she was so scared of death she didn't know. It was probably because it had been laid out in front of her, her fate chosen for her and she had no choice in the matter. But even so, the other wolf believed Ragnarok had already happened and that was still a small comfort.
"I am not little," she said in a small voice.

He had to laugh a little at that. "Littler than me. But fair enough."
He turned and looked at her, all curled in on herself. She was frightened of him, and he wasn't sure why. He didn't want to kill her. He just wanted to chase, perhaps catch every once in a while, but killing her wasn't something he wanted to do.
He finally broke the rather awkward silence. "I'm not here to kill you, if it makes you feel any better," he offered. "I was just out walking and felt you were nearby. Could probably pick you out in a crowd of gods."
He knew that Mani had vanished, that couldn't have been fun for her. If Hati ever wet away like that, he would hardly know what to do with himself. "Sorry about your brother," he said at last. For all that be tried to blend in a little better than his brother, sometimes he was really awkward at it.

She gave him a look. Always trying to one up her. Or was that someone else? Either way it irritated her.
"The problem is I don't know if I can trust you, but seeing as you have me right now and haven't done anything I'll believe you. For now." Her red hair probably didn't help with the picking.
She frowned, "How do you know about that?" She demanded and was suddenly uncomfortable.

He returned her look with a raised eyebrow. It seemed to say, What? It's true. Didn't mean anything by it.'
He nodded once. "I'll take it," he said. "And I haven't exactly given you much reason to trust me. Wolves don't exactly inspire trust."
"Haven't heard about Hati chasing him," he said. "He seems...upset, I guess. No Moon to chase. Nothing I can really do to cheer him up." He sighed, almost inaudibly. "Brother is not Moon, but I try to do what I can."

Her eye twitched slightly as she glared at him. How she would love to show those wolves they weren't as great and powerful as they thought.
A brow lifted at that, "You've only been chasing me for centuries. Nothing too stressful." She looked away, hating that she allowed herself to be found so easily.
"You can dress up as a moon and get eaten, then maybe I could have a rest for a change." She looked pleased at her cleverness and almost smiled.
