Who: William Shakespeare, Melpomene, Clio and Thalia
Where: Meeting up with Mel then heading to Clio's
When: Saturday, July 1st
What: Will is finally reunited with his darling Muses
Note: Reposted as a favour
It was surreal really to be drawn to them at this very moment. As if time had waited for that perfect chance to spin her web again and give him the girls. A smile crept against that pouty mouth of his reminding him of the very first time he met his first Muse, his darling Clio. Then her sister's followed. Thalia, Erato, Calliope and finally his endearing Mel. With their whispers they made that gift inside bud, blush against his cheeks, a kiss upon his lips. Together he found his Elizabeth, his Titania, and his Juliet.
William in time became his own myth, even death had not let him lie alone. Alas the beauty he'd given the world also took it from him. Now, resurrected he found nothing but an empty thought and scribbles on his paper. It was cruel but now there was a peace in his heart.
Standing out by the park bench he leaned against it's back waiting for the lovely Mel. When she approached he gave her a humble bow and the soft touch of his fingers grasping hers for a gentle kiss.

Somehow Melpomene knew she would someday see William again. She just knew. There were so many who had returned from the dead, brought back to life by belief and she knew it was only a matter of time. When that time finally came she was overjoyed. She hadn't been this happy in so long. She was fit to burst!
It was not nerves or anxiety that accompanied her as she made her way to their meeting place before ultimately going to see Clio and Thalia. It was excitement and eagerness to see him. Touch him.
As soon as her eyes fell on him her stride quickened and a little curtsy of her own was response to his bow. "Oh William," she whispered and couldn't stop herself from kissing him. It was overdue.

There was a time when puffy collars and leggings were in fashion, but Will had long since grown that. Though he was thought of as the guy with the earring and white collar. Now he was much more casual and still the moment he saw Mel he felt as if he'd been whisked back in time.
His arms wrapped around her sweetly, and those adoring kisses. He could even say a tear ran along his eyelids. Forehead to forehead he cradled her face in his hands. "My darling, Mel."

Melpomene had to resist the urge to wear that dress he'd last seen her in. It brought back both wonderfully pleasant memories and those that gave her the desire to rip out her own eyes. So instead she had tucked that safely in the back of her closet. If he ever wanted to see it she wouldn't deny him. Melpomene's own fashion had changed with each century, though nothing could ever beat the comfort of ancient Greece.
For a moment she forgot all those troubles after his death (and where they were going). He had been her favorite for so long, all these years later even when there had been so many after him. William Shakespeare was not a name or face one just forgot. For this moment she felt almost whole again, for the time being. But Tragedy possessed sadness even in the face of great happiness, it was inevitable for her to cry over something, and even now it was difficult for her to stop the tears. She held tightly to him. "William," she said again. It was the most beautiful name in the world and she couldn't stop saying it.
And then the sudden realization came over her. She could have kept him all to herself, just for a little while, but her sisters had suffered as well. "Clio and Thalia, they're waiting. Come," she said, reluctantly releasing him and instead taking his hand to show him the way.

She was his darling brown-eyed treasure for whom he would always hold a soft spot. His tragedy. He cradled her face in his hands smoothing his thumbs over those cheeks whisking away those delicate tears she shed, kissing her forehead.
"All that was lost is now found," he took her hand in stride heading toward Clio's, fingers twining with hers and giving a gentle squeeze.
He would have her to himself in time, but tonight was for all his darling girls.

Melpomene was not a stranger to smiling, in fact she wasn't a stranger to the brighter things in life, but she smiled brightly at him. It was just the luck of the draw when she ended up with tragedy. That her name meant something else entirely would forever bother her.
She walked close to him, practically pressing against him. Maybe it was that she had longed for him for so long, or maybe it was that she wanted that familiarity. Or both.
"It's not far, just a couple blocks over," she informed him as they walked on. Melpomene walked with an eagerness, though there was reluctance in her step. She wanted to have him all to herself, and yet she wanted to share with her sisters the joy of having him back. In the end, her sisters' happiness would always come before her own.

"Has it been that long?" he teased her just enjoying the fresh air and that slower step he kept so that he could cherish her presence alone a little longer before reaching Clio's door.
"Tell me, I look better with a fuller head of hair these days?" he smiled running a hand through his hair. He liked seeing Mel smile. He'd missed her company, her arms and the way he could endlessly dote on her, share the best kept secrets, and be tragically in love.

Melpomene smirked and gave him a flirty little nudge. "Not long at all. Only 395 years," she said in what was Tragedy's attempt at humor. She had waited longer to see others, but there were few with who held the same value and sentiment as William did. It was exciting, like the beginning of a brand new story.
"I do like it, but I love you with hair or none." Melpomene played favorites, that was only obvious in those who had been "bitten" with the Tragedy bug, if you will. And it didn't matter what their mortal age was or their appearance.

"Oh that's no time," he said waving her off playfully. It was a new story unfolding before them, and it had been on hold for much too long.
"Mel, now your just humouring me." It wasn't much longer before they reached Clio's and William knocked on the door, his other hand still wrapped with Mel's.

Clio could hardly believe William, their William, was back now. They'd all been such a mess with his birthday and now he strolled up like nothing was amiss, only saying he needed them again.
She could hit him, if she hadn't missed him so dearly. William was the first writer she'd taken and he'd been the first to write his histories for her. When he'd met her sisters, the delight had been so obvious, even if he'd been so confused when they'd fought over him.
She'd been close to the door, otherwise Euterpe would yell for running, and when the knock came she pulled it open and pulled Will into a hug. Laughing and crying she held him before she pulled back and looked at him, "look at you."

Thal had no restrictions on running, so when she heard the knock, she practically bolted out of her seat and dashed to the door, taking care not to knock Clio over (because then Euterpe probably really would have yelled).
She let Clio say her hellos before pulling Will into a very tight hug. It was so good to see him up walking around again, and she was determined not to just let him fall off their collective radar again. "I missed you," she told him. "You look good."

No sooner had he gotten the door open his hand slipping from Mel's and gently embracing Clio with a hug. It was enough to prick his own eyes with tears. It had been so long.
Before he could open his mouth Thalia came bolting around and he near fell over from her tight squeeze. All of them so very much the same girls he'd held before, it was as if his spirit lifted to new heights. He laughed releasing Thalia and giving them a proper bow. It seemed almost a natural habit, and he was sent back in time with the three of them there.
That light water that had built up around his eyes fell down his cheeks.
"My ladies," he said ecstatically.
"You all look as gorgeous as ever."

Melpomene gave a little sigh of relief when Clio and Thalia each greeted William. It truly was like having a group of close friends back together again, and to Mel that was enough to make her happy. Her sisters meant the world to her and they shared many things, including people.
She smiled and slipped past them into the apartment where she waited as nothing more than a watcher while her sisters had their chance for a reunion. Slipping off her jacket she took a seat and waited anxiously to chatter away with them all.
