Entry tags:bridget llywelyn, monique reppyi, veronica reppyi

Who: Bridget Llywelyn, Veronica and Monique Reppyi
What: Wedding Plans
When: A bit after this
Where: Veronica's place
Warnings: Very little I'd imagine

Veronica didn't know Bridget well, but she'd met her at George's party and it seemed the other woman could use a hand. Figuring it was always nice to offer said hand and get to know someone who was in this world as much as she and her sister were, she'd offered. Veronica had never married, but she had to imagine it being stressful. And she hoped to cure that with an offer of friendship and her own brand of productiveness. She'd always been good at organizing things.

Once the place was clean she'd had Bernie take his dog into the yard for a few hours. She didn't know if Bridget was allergic and had forgotten to ask. Her son sat playing with his things, although she knew he was curious. She hoped to keep Bernie's eagerness to meet new people.

When the bell rang she got up, "Nikkie, our guest is here!" She called to her sister and ruffled her son's hair before opening the door and smiling to the woman. "Hi. Come on in." Once the woman was in she offered to take her coat. "I'm Veronica, but most call me V or Ronnie." She motioned to her son, who waved. "That's my son Bernie and my sister should be arriving any second." Smiling she motioned Bridget further inside. "So before we get to planning, tea?"

Bridget grinned as she was ushered inside. It always made her happy to hear a British accent. Her own Welsh accent hadn't faded a bit, despite leaving Wales at 18. "Hello, Bernie! And I would love tea, thanks." Bridget shrugged her bag with her notebook in it off of her shoulder and then she breathed a sigh of relief. "Frankly, it's just nice to get out of the house."

Monique came out of the kitchen, waving to Bridget. "Hello! I'm Monique, though I answer to Nikkie too. The kettle's on, shouldn't be too long. And I have some cookies here to go with them. So how can we help you today?"

She noted the accent and gave a surprised smile before sitting down. "Completely understandable. I can't imagine what all the stress of a wedding does so we are happy to help."

Bernie slided a bit closer, giving up his toys for the stranger. The boy grinned and sat down close. "Can I help mum," he looked to his mother who smiled. "I'm sure you will come in handy. Now Bridget, how did you meet your fiancée?"

Bridget settled on the sofa, pulling out her notebook as well as a package of goodies. "I mostly just need to look at all the decisions and actually make some. The wedding is on the 30th, which is soon now. And of course you can help, Bernie!

"As for how I met Dewi...he was in hospital where I volunteered. He had taken a bump on the head and he didn't remember who he was. Not for months, really. He was only speaking in Welsh at first, which makes sense now, being the patron saint of Wales. But then, we just assumed he was from Wales originally and just remembered how to speak the language he knew originally. So they brought me in to talk to him."

Monique settled into a chair close to the kitchen so she could grab the kettle when it went off. "Which decisions?" she asked tilting her head toward Bridget.

"That sounds awful, not remembering who you are," she murmured. "But at least he was able to talk to you. I can't imagine having no one understand me, I'd feel so alone. But he's doing alright now?"

Bernie made his way so he could sit on his mother's lap, trying to look important. He frowned at the story, "I hope he's okay too." Veronica smiled, "I'm sure he is love. He is marrying Bridget. You have to be okay for that. But I agree, can't imagine not knowing who you are."

"It is very romantic though." Bernie made a face and she laughed, "you wanted to help with girly stuff. You are stuck young man." She ruffled her son's hair who ducked before looking to Bridget, "so Dewi is like my dad and Anthony?" At his mothers frown he looked down, "if that's okay to ask, I mean."

She gave Bridget an apologetic smile, "curious. And what decisions need making?"

"It's okay to ask! Dewi is like Anthony." Bridget smiled widely at Bernie, who was adorable. "He's a saint. And he's doing a lot better now. He remembers who he is. Saint Patrick and Saint George came to find him after he was already living with me and we were engaged. He had a little soul-searching to do, but he decided eventually that he wanted to get married still. I resented then at first but I really love them now."

Bridget opened her notebook and she sighed. "I have to decide on flowers, among other things. I think daffodils would be nice since they're the Welsh flower, but they're a little...strange."

Monique laughed at the face Bernie pulled. "We're just meeting Saints and the people who love them all over the place, aren't we kiddo?"

"You met both of them, didn't you, V?" she asked. "You said they were good people. I'd like to meet them sometime."

"Daffodils are pretty!" she agreed. "Very bright. Maybe you could mix them into the arrangements? If you like them, you should use them. After all, it's yours and Dewi's day."

"But mostly her day," she smiled to Bridget, letting Bernie go after a bit of fussing. "And daffodils are gorgeous bu I agree with Nikkie. Mix them into something maybe? Pick a flower you love. Not because it may mean something but because you love that flower. Daffodils could be extra."

Bernie smiled then. "Mum let me have his autograph. It was cool." Veronica nodded, "they are nice people. I said all of 'oh my god you are Saint George, I love you' to George but hey." Shrugging she watched Bernie go across the table, leaning closer to Bridget. "I also met the Virgin, and then made an ass out of myself. Casual conversation until I went 'so hey Jesus dying must have sucked'."

Smirking she watched Bernie bring his things closer, knowing he had more questions. the boy eventually perked up, "so Bridget, can Dewi do neat things? I mean my dad can make waves and Anthony finds things."

"That's actually a really good idea!" Bridget said to Veronica and Monique. She hadn't thought of combining them with other flowers. "I really like white peonies so maybe I could combine them with daffodils. Thank you!"

Bridget covered her face, trying not to laugh at Veronica's comment when she met Mary. "I am sure I said something ridiculous to them. I think I called Saint Patrick a name, which I feel horrible about now. I haven't gotten to know Anthony, what's he like?" Bridget smiled warmly at Bernie as he leaned in closer, and she inched the photos of wedding dresses she was choosing between towards him, even if they likely wouldn't interest him.

"Dewi can make plants grow," Bridget said with a sweet little smile. "He has this amazing garden up on the roof which is where we're getting married. He makes the most amazing things in the kitchen too, though I don't know if that's a special power or just being really good at cooking. I don't know if that's as neat as waves or finding things, but I like it!"

"That'll look wonderful!" Monique said. "Like V said, it's mostly your day."

"Wait, the Virgin...you mean the Virgin Mary? Holy crap!" she exclaimed. "What's she like? Is she kind of like the ultimate mom?"

"He's dating V, so he's obviously got good taste," she said with a grin. "And he's a really nice guy all around."

"I bet that'll make for some beautiful wedding pictures," she said with a smile. "He sounds like quite the catch, and being able to cook is a nice bonus."

"You are very welcome." She smiled as Bernie looked to the pictures. there wasn't much for a young boy to enjoy, but he was making an effort and she appreciated that.

And with all the wisdom of an eight year old he glanced to Bridget, "you're going to look pretty." Veronica had to smile to that and she cleared her throat before nodding at her sister. "She is. Very lovely until I started cursing and reminding her of what she'd lost. Then I wanted to disappear."

She gave a shy smile, "he's lovely. He's sweet, thoughtful. He can cook. I like him." She smiled to Bernie, "and Bernie likes him." The boy nodded.

"Already jealous. Anyway next decision?"

Bridget felt so calm and comforted being surrounded by this little family she barely knew. They were making her feel so at home, without even trying. It was wonderful. "Thank you so much, Bernie," she said beaming at him. She pushed the dress photos to the women as well. "I have to choose between these somehow."

"Mary is lovely and I'm sure she wouldn't want you to disappear! That seems rather harsh! She seems like the ultimate mum to me."

"I need to get to know more of David's family. I have been so busy with trying to find a job and wedding preparations I haven't made the time for it. There were so many people at George and Sebastian's reception and I had no idea who most of them were."

Bridget turned to Veronica and, completely abandoning the wedding decisions for a moment, she said, "did you know there was an angel there? Dewi pointed him out and he came to talk to us and I didn't hear a word he said because I was looking for wings."

Monique angled her head to get a better look at the pictures. "I'm sure you'll look lovely in any of these," she said, studying them. "Were you looking for something simpler, or more princess-like?"

"Holy crap, the Virgin Mary's running around, going to parties and being everyone's mum," she breathed. "I think if I ever met her, I just wouldn't be able to talk. Or I'd blurt out the first thing that came into my head, regardless of what it was."

She fell silent as the other women talked. She hadn't been at the reception, and she was only peripherally involved in all of this to start with. She studied the dress pictures in front of her instead.

She nodded, "I agree with my boy. Anyway. These all do look lovely but let's play a game. If you had any amount of money in the world, which of these do you want? And remember no thinking about how much it may be. Which one tells you 'this is what I will wear when I go to pledge my love to my future husband'?"

She smiled, "she is lovely. And that's kind of what I did Nikkie. I was just so overwhelmed. I mean thousands of people pray to her, for any sort of measure. And she said hi to me. I was blown away. And I don't really believe." She chuckled then. "I knew Anthony. That was it. And Patrick who talked to me."

Laughing she nodded. "Michael, of all of them. I didn't talk to him, but I saw him. I mean what do you say to freaking Michael? Thanks for kicking the Devil's ass? Please don't smite me? Hey how's God?" She shook her head, "but I did meet the Lionheart, which was so strange. He was very respectful but I kept feeling like I should be bowing." She went to set her hand on Bridget's knee. "And you know us now. We're like pitbulls when it comes to friendship. We don't let go."

"Patrick's lovely," Bridget mused as she sorted through the pictures of the dresses again, trying to decide which one she would want no matter what. "Though I still find it incredibly strange that Saint George and Saint Patrick will be my brother-in-laws. That just doesn't seem normal."

Bridget rested her hand on the most simple dress in the pile. It was more her. She never thought of herself as a princess and she was marrying a saint on a roof in a garden. Simple was probably better. "I wouldn't know what to say to Michael either. I avoided him completely. He looked like he was made of stone a little bit. I didn't get to meet the Lionheart! That must have been quite something!"

Bridget grinned as Veronica placed her hand on Bridget's knee. "I like that. I could use some pit bull friends. How do you think I'd look in this one?" she asked, pushing the simpler dress forward.

"You'll look stunning and you're going to knock him off his feet. Doesn't matter what you wear." Smiling she squeezed Bridget's hand before releasing her. "You'll be the star."

When the kettle whistles she looked to her sister, "would you mind?" then she glanced to Bridget, "it must be strange. And I think we passed normal a while ago, but despite it being all odd it's also nice."

She shrugged, "he is an angel. I don't know how they'd fit in. And it was."
