Who: Kyle and Hephaestus
What: Anyone seen or heard from Ariadne?
When: Sunday night
Where: Naxos
Warnings: Nothing really that I know of
Note: Reposted as a favour
Dionysus had gone a little crazy since they'd found out Ariadne was missing. He'd started spacing out more often, forgetting drink orders and just walking off in front of customers. He wasn't the bright and bubbly god that Kyle knew. He'd known Dion to get mad, he'd been on the brunt end of that when Ariadne had left the last time (and that had been on purpose). This was a different kind of crazy and Kyle was starting to get a little worried. With a shortage of hands he was practically the only one holding down the place with interviews for help and keeping things running smoothly. He didn't know how to be a manager, it made him rather frantic but someone had to keep things from going under. He'd go down and burn trying if he had to.
He kept looking over his shoulder as he wiped down the counter. He wasn't sure where Dionysus had slipped off to but he sure as hell wasn't within eyesight anymore. The mood of the customers had changed as well. People were dancing around erratically. In fact there wasn't nearly as many people in here as there normally was. Something was really off.
Not really wanting to bother Homonoia, Kyle had asked Hephaestus to come on down. He'd seen the god around a time or two with Dionysus before, he didn't feel a threat. Maybe he could help.
When Hephaestus had gotten the call from Kyle, he'd left the house as soon as he could and headed to Naxos. It sounded like he wasn't the only one having difficulties lately.
Stepping inside the bar, he was hit by a feeling of...he couldn't really put a name to it. But it was far from the usual atmosphere. It didn't seem cheery anymore, and that was the biggest warning signal to him.
He sat on a stool in front of the counter, waiting for Kyle to finish his task and come over.
The whole vibe had changed Kyle's demeanor too. He felt more depressed like this dark cloud looming over him and it wasn't even his girlfriend that had disappeared. Ariadne was a friend however, but there was a bitterness in this mood and he knew Dionysus had something to do with it.
He gave Hephaestus a half-smile as he entered finishing up cleaning down the counter and pulling his attention forward.
"Like a drink?" he asked hopeful. "On the house."
"Whiskey neat, please, thank you Kyle," Hephaestus said, leaning back in his seat a bit. He felt very tired and old all of a sudden. It was not a feeling he enjoyed in the slightest.
"I'm fairly certain I can guess why you asked me to come down here today," he continued. "I heard Ariadne was missing. Has there been any news?"
"Nothin'" Kyle answered fixing the drink and sliding it towards Hephaestus. "She jus' up and vanished. I don't know what to do ya know? And," he felt a chill run down his back. He shook it off. "Somethin' weird's goin' on here. I don't know where Dion is half the time. He doesn't look himself. He's not makin' much sense anymore."
"I don't believe she's vanished, so much as she was taken," Hephaestus replied, lowering his voice a little. "I had a friend do some checking, and it turns out Hera is involved, which does not surprise me in the least." He sighed, sipping his drink. "She was never Dionysus' biggest fan."
"Where do you think he's going?" he mused out loud. "The thought of him out wandering around in this state of mind is not comforting."
"Wasn't Hera the one that made him go crazy? Or somethin'." He knew a little, but really right now he was having a hard time keeping a level head. With Dionysus oftentimes he felt wasted without ever having picked up a drink. It was starting to filter in and out, but with a darker vibe than before.
Shaking it out of his system he filled a glass with water and downed it quick. Maybe that would help. "I dunno where he's goin'. He's just wanderin' off half the time. When he's here he jus' seems off."
