WHO: Natalie & Veronica
WHEN: Late Friday night
WHERE: Veronica's place
WHAT: Drunken shenanigans

Natalie was spiraling, spending her time drinking and going home with strangers. It was reckless and stupid but she could think of nothing else to do when she'd so completely broken the man who was her best friend and hero.

She used to dream as a child of meeting the Red Baron, about how they'd go on adventures together and they'd be the best little team. She was pretty sure if childhood-her could see what she'd done to him now there would be some serious anger at grown up Natalie.

The only times she was actually sober was when she had to fly, because although Natalie was stupid she wasn't that stupid. She wasn't going to risk the lives of passengers or her license. Flying was the only thing she had going for her.

So after a very complicated drinking game on Friday night in which she somehow ended up losing her jacket, Natalie walked the five blocks to Veronica's place and banged on the door with a bright smile on her face, oblivious to the cold in her little red dress.

Veronica was half worried who it could be. She could strangle Poseidon for leaving town on such short notice, Bernie just didn't understand fully yet, and she had very few people willing to bang on her door like this.

But when she looked through the peephole and noticed Nat she frowned and opened the door. Nat was drunk, again, and Veronica repressed a sigh. Her mothering instincts wanted to do something, but what was there to do? She just smiled, and set a finger to her lips. "Bernie's asleep, but come on in."

"I'll be quiet," Natalie said in a less hushed tone that she was going for as she pressed a finger to her lips and then, with a bit of a giggle, to Veronica's lips.

She just rolled her eyes and smiled. Thankfully Bernie was a deep sleeper. She waved Natalie in, at least she'd know Nat was safe and not God knows where with God knows who, and closed the door behind her friend. "Coffee?"

"Bourbon is the bane of us all." She smiled to her friend and guided her into the kitchen, "thankfully I've plenty of coats you can borrow." Smiling she set out to make the coffee, so, I met someone." Nat may be a little bit too drunk to fully participate in the conversation but she hadn't told her friend yet. "And he's adorable."

"Oooh, adorable," Natalie teased, although she was far too wasted to really hold a proper conversation with it. "As adorable as me?" Natalie asked, going for a sweet smile but mostly coming off as a complete mess.

She chuckled, "no love, you're the most adorable thing I know." and drunk. Smiling she settled Nat on a chair before she fell over and handed her a cup. "Now you drink that. It'll help." She tended to mother people at times, but she knew Nat could do with some mothering.

Natalie beamed up at her, wrapping her hands around the cup. "I hardly drank anything," Natalie protested quietly. Surely it had just been a bit, hadn't it? A wee tiny amount of booze? Maybe slightly more.

Then she held out her arms. "Hugs now," she commanded.

"Drink the coffee, then you get hugs." She crossed her arms, taking a stance she knew was one she used when Bernie was behaving badly or was being stubborn. Funnily enough she knew her own mother to have the same stance.

"it's hot love, you have to blow it." She just sighed and handed Nat a cup of water. "Drink that, and then blow on the coffee and have some more. You'll have one cup of coffee then off to bed with you." She was, thankfully, used to fussing over people. It was just a bit odd knowing Nat was older then her.

She sighed and moved closer, wondering if she'd have to drag Nat onto the couch. Despite being small and a bit skinny she had decent strength. Had to be from carrying her son all around. "What is it love?"

That was a surprise. Her eyes widened and she pushed Nat away before the kiss could continue. Now she tasted alcohol. "Okay. Time for bed I think."

"Not with me love, sorry. You're a bit too drunk for me." And after her own unfortunate choice she wouldn't sleep with anyone while they were drunk. Didn't seem fair, even if she had that sort of interest in Nat. Smiling she extended her hands, "come on now."
