One of the muses certainly sounded like a goddess who could sway people to fall for them. Or inspire it anyway. "You have to tell her, Tinse. You have to end it. You're clearly not happy, and you deserve to be. And she'll be happier in the long run. Look at me. You are not a bad person, but you did make a mistake. And I believe you can do the right thing now. I always have faith in you."
