Asterion leaned down, the smell of blood stark and coppery in his nostrils. He prodded Hybris and her body was warm, so warm- No would see. He could just…reach out and take a bite- Saliva flooded his mouth as he thought of how it would taste-
And then Erato spoke, and it broke Asterion from his spell. Just in time too. Eating flesh was a slippery slope he didn’t believe he could come back from. With a grunt, he heaved himself off the floor and stumbled over to Erato’s side. Oh god, what had Hybris done to her?
“It’s me,” he breathed out, fingers fumbling for the buckles on the straight jacket so he could release her arms. “It’s Asterion. You’re okay, Hybris is dead.”
