Suchi had arrived early to the protest. It was probably the first time she'd been out of the house all week, and the first time she'd been out of pyjamas in two or three days. Since marrying Aaron, life had almost ground to a halt for her. She stayed at home, stopped looking for a job, and spent most of her time trying to ignore her husband and playing video games. Some part of her registered that this probably wasn't the best way to live her life, but nothing had managed to break through the depression that settled.
Until now. She'd stayed up the previous night, hand painting a banner, headed out of the house before Aaron was up, and was now here on the campus of Seattle University, talking to actual human beings for the first time in what felt like years. She'd brought her notebook with her and had been covering the set up process so far. She'd spoken with a few organizers and had offered to translate some of the pamphlets into Spanish for them.
