Jay's mouth twisted as he heard the pain in Kyle's voice and saw the anger tighten his shoulders, as if he wanted to throw something, either the glass in his hand, or perhaps a punch at an unnamed partner. Jay's own shoulders remained relaxed, his body still facing Kyle as he waited for the young man to finish.
"What he wanted? He was drawn in a lottery, I'm guessing?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. He knew same-sex marriages were actually recognised, and he'd jokingly offered to marry Nathan overnight if the guy ended up finding himself drawn with a teenager. But if a couple were still deep in the closet, and he was guessing again that Kyle's partner was from the sounds of it, it would be impossible to avoid being drawn.
