Lisa had a great laugh--open and free, and Noah couldn't resist joining in.
"I swear to God I couldn't make up something like that," he said when it subsided, wiping at his eyes. "So I'll have it as well."
He took a sip of his own water as Lisa did, and she fanned at her flushed face, still smiling. The waitperson, a slim young man with dark spiked hair popped up, looking amused at them, and Noah gave their order, trying to ignore Lisa struggling not to burst out into laughter again. He added white wine, the young man took their orders and disappeared. Noah bit the tip of his tongue to keep from laughing, and took another drink of water.
"I can couples dance--I learned because I had to attend so many faculty dinners and parties. I actually took lessons at a dance studio. I'm a scientist, so patterns, I understand. Now any other type of dancing, like in clubs? Well. A flailing geek is simply painful to watch and dangerous in close proximity. So I tend not to do that sort unless really, really drunk. And I haven't been that for years."
