Kyle stared at his Banh Mi, it was becoming habit of late, since he'd moved out. Kyle had only been separated from Robin for a short period after college and he'd gotten so bad he'd stopped working and almost had lost the apartment. He could feel himself headed in the same direction again. It was all he could do to walk into his internship that morning and sit down to work. And now, he was frozen once more by that ever imposing lethargy. He wasn't even hungry, he just couldn't listen to the happy chatter of Kathy working next to him.
Kyle sighed and headed for the door. Pushing his way out through the crowded, popular deli he started looking for a trashcan on the street. What was the point, if he wasn't hungry? Really, what was the point of working either? What future did he have? There was nothing.. just an empty motel room and two suitcases full of crap. He rubbed his face sighing, "Buck up Kyle," he muttered to himself. Robin was good and all, but he could do this on his own, he had to.
After the initial anger had worn off he'd fallen into a slump. He kept catching himself spiraling into self-pity and misery. He was achy and tired, the old leftover depression pills that a doctor had once given him had no effect. He hadn't defaced any government property, he hadn't joined a single strike, he was angry, but not angry enough to end up in jail. He had always hated the Lottery, but he'd let his feelings lie so he could stop the friction it caused between him and Robs. Now, it didn't matter and he had nothing to do, no way to show how he felt.
He shook his head and reached out to dump the sandwich in a nearby trash can.
