"He's a brat," Nana said simply. "I love him, but he really is. He woke Rose up yesterday and I nearly killed him." She returned with the tea, then poured a cup for each of them. She stirred a bit of milk and sugar into hers after giving him his, then blushed brightly when he spoke next.
"I-I've missed you too," she said, hesitantly taking a sip of her tea. She laughed just a bit. "I have a bag of them lying around somewhere if you'd like to take them with you." What did he mean by all of that? Some people from work had called her and told her they missed her, but she had a feeling that maybe it was different with John.
Or maybe that was just wishful thinking. She set her cup down and folded her hands in her lap, willing herself to stop blushing.
