George noticed Jasper's speech was getting more hesitant, the effort obviously taking it out of him. She lowered her pen, closing her pad softly and finished the last of her coffee.
"This one seems to have done both those things with great effect," she replied, standing up after slipping her pad into her bag. "And I think on that rather sobering thought I might let you get some rest. I don't want to end up causing you to be kept in here any longer than necessary by causing any sort of relapse or anything," she continued as she picked up her bag and wrapped up the remaining pastries.
"I'll put these in here for later!" she stage-whispered as she slipped them into the top drawer of the chest next to his bed.
