"I hope it does get... people talking. I'm seeing it in chat rooms on the Internet, but it's... hardly getting any coverage right now on the main news."
George looked very thoughtful, almost sad, he thought, and he wondered if it was empathy for the survivors of the bombing or something else. He'd only just met her, though. He figured they'd covered enough personal territory with baby pictures and sharing their thoughts about the current government.
If there was another meeting, perhaps he would ask then.
"I don't know if a bombing... has much purpose," he said softly. "Beyond causing damage to... the structure and the morale of the target. But this... isn't a battlefield. Like the... news you hear from the Middle East, with the... suicide bombers. Some aim to take out soldiers. Others... aim to remind everyone that... no one is safe..."
Well, he thought that made sense. Maybe he was getting tired. He wanted to help this woman, though, who was obviously determined to try to make a difference.
