He lifted a hand in farewell, then switched off the intercom and made his way back out of PICU, giving the nurses at the main desk a nod. If he knew hospital gossip--and he did--they'd be making something out of the fact he'd brought Nana after hours to see her baby. A hospital was a pit of vipers when it came to gossip. He wouldn't be surprised if he heard that he was marrying Nana by the end of the week. He gave a little snort.
His belly decided at that moment to growl loudly, and he turned his steps toward the cafeteria to pick up a sandwich and then finish his shift.
