Noah laughed. "I grew up in the Midwest. My grandfather had a farm out in the country, and every summer we spent a lot of time there, supposedly getting our characters built up through hard work. Feel free to translate that as slave labor." His mouth curved up in happy memory. "We worked hard, but had lots of time for swimming, baseball with local kids, horseback riding. Good times."
He paused to take a drink of tea. "You said that you grew up and lived in a small town in Alaska. I'd imagine it was quite the shock moving to Seattle."
