Amy's lips turned into a grimace of displeasure. She'd spoken about this with her doctor - gone so far as to assure him that there couldn't be a problem - and now she was being made to look like a liar. Worse, she was going to be billed for a surgery that she only underwent in the interest of obeying the law.
"So I can look forward to maybe being reimbursed when I wake up? Great." She made her way from the front desk to the empty chairs in the waiting room and collapsed in one, dejected and annoyed. This always happened to her. The universe just conspired to make her life hell.
Before she could give full reign to self-pity, she remembered what else she'd told the good doctor and turned to Sarah. "Isn't it illegal to refuse, though? I'm not having surgery just for the fun of it."
