"Yeah," he said and drove the rest of the way home in silence. He thought about switching on the radio, just to fill the space, but didn't bother. They were back at the apartment soon enough. He parked the car in their assigned spot, gave the keys back to his mother and followed her into the building, hands in the pockets of pants of his new suit.
