Noah laughed. "I talk to anyone who'll sit still long enough, so I'm full of bits of this and that. Though that's not what some say that I'm full of, in all honesty," he replied.
His watch beeped, and he turned off the alarm. Damn. "It's my turn to lecture again," he said, regretful that he had to break away from conversation with her. She was bright and interesting, and lovely to look at, her hands slim and beautifully-manicured, something he always noticed.
"If you'd like to have coffee sometime and talk, or have a question, or would like an opinion--god knows I have enough of those--please feel free to call or email. I'm easy to reach, and reply promptly. And I know what it's like to be new in a city and know no one. Not so much fun."
He unwound and stood. "As a colleague, I'm Dr. Browning. But as a friend, I'm Noah." He smiled and held out his hand to shake. The choice was entirely hers, though he certainly wouldn't mind another friend. There were never enough of those.
