"If that's true, it was easy," Jason gave the man a wry smile, "I've been leaving the apartment around eleven at night, and I haven't gotten home before four in the morning. If I didn't have a night job as an excuse, I would have noticed." The night job, with the fact that he was off the schedule the past few weeks, was merely an excuse. It was easier to explain his late night absences from his home than trying to explain where he actually spent his time.
"I would like for us to get along, even though it doesn't seem we'll be sharing a place for too long. I know Ma will expect me to get my own place before the week is out."
