"If my husband isn't you, I'm going to feel that way anyway." She whispered in response, slowly pulling away and getting out of bed. "I probably could've gone out and found a lot of men who'd fuck me virgin or not if I wanted a "last hurrah"." She walked to the foot of his bed and looked down at him, her green eyes burning into his. "But that isn't what I wanted. I wanted to love you. I didn't care if it was for one minute, or one day, or the rest of eternity, I just wanted to let myself love you." She realized, then, exactly what everyone had been talking about all these years about 'heart break'. "If you were just a last ditch effort, I wouldn't feel like you just ripped out part of my soul, Ty." She looked like she was going to say something else, but she cursed under her breath as a hot, angry tear slid down her cheek, and she turned and left the room, struggling with the door knob to his bedroom and finally opening it and grabbing her clothes on the way out. She left both doors open. She didn't care. She just half-walked half-stumbled towards the elevator across the hall and a few doors down, pushing the button a few times and then hauling off and punching the wall as hard as she could when it refused to light up. She crumpled against the shut steel doors as the pain hit her, but was dulled quickly enough by everything else. She pushed it again, and it lit this time, and she waited with her arms wrapped around herself for the car to reach the right floor.
Tylan followed her out of the apartment, getting the the door just in time to see her punch the wall. He sighed and walked over to her, grabbing her by the shoulders and pulling her body against his. He held her tight there in the hallway. Her head against his bare chest. His heart thumping as he swallowed air. "If you want me. It's only for this weekend unless neither of us get paired." he told her. "I won't cheat. Even if I don't get to pick my wife. And I won't be the one to make you cheat. That's all I can give you. And if you don't want that... I'm sorry."
She went almost limp in his arms as she felt the warmth of them surround her, and she turned in them, letting her head rest against him as she stood there. She shook her head softly, empty sobs shaking her shoulders, but it seemed she was out of tears. "I couldn't say no...I couldn't say no even if I wanted to." She replied in a soft murmur, no more anger left in her voice. Just...a certain sad resolve.
He sighed and brushed a hand over her hair. "C'mon. Let's go back inside." he told her. He didn't really give her much choice, picking the girl up bridal style and carrying her back towards his door. Tylan took her into the apartment and sat her down again on her feet, shutting the door behind him. "Let's go to bed and we'll figure it all out in the morning okay?"
She leaned into him, her head resting on his shoulder and her eyes falling shut as she clutched her clothes to herself and nuzzled as close to him as she could get. "I guess the scariest part is wondering if a man will ever hold me and make me feel safe again like only you have. I guess what's even scarier is knowing the answer is probably no." She whispered suddenly against his neck, the bare truth laying there before him after she went silent.
