If she had wanted to make a statement, she wouldn't have bothered with an interview. But press releases didn't give the press what they wanted and they always got picked apart by the opposition. No doubt something similar would happen with this interview, but at least the illusion of accountability was maintained. The questions, for one thing, hadn't been decided upon previously. No subject was off the table.
