"He has a cat and likes to cook. I learn more about him every day." May said dryly with a frown, picking up her glass of water and returned to the kitchen. Dumping the contents into the sink, she opened the pantry for a bottle of gin. She muttered to herself in Korean as she unscrewed the cap. "Unbelievable."
Her head was pounding, processing facts, crossing them and rejecting the remainder. The pressure around her temple brought an uncomfortable flush to her skin as walls closed around her. She needed a shock to her system to focus. Couldn't unravel now. Looking at the stargazers sitting on the counter, such a nice gesture of friendship, a sad consolation. She poured a small amount into her glass and finished the sharp and bitter liquid in one gulp. It hurt.
"Spatula might be here, you could check his room." Shaking her head, she cleared her throat and talked over her shoulder, refilling the glass with water. Tried to make her voice sound upbeat. "Is that why you came here? As an ambassador of goodwill? Thought you would have come to visit sooner."
