Jason didn't have to look up from his plate to sense that the both of them had their eyes fixed on him. He looked up at met Dan's gaze, and smiled apologetically. The meeting between Dan and his mother was less his idea than he was willing to admit, but he went along with it. There was some hope that his mother might actually like Dan.
"You're both right. Ma, I think that Dan and Jae-Mi need to work things out together...but I think that Dan's right in letting her have her space. Anyways, isn't it traditional that the parents meet the husband before they give their daughter away in an arranged marriage? We can look at it that way." Jason answered in a rambling rush of words, hoping his answer was enough to placate his mother.
