Noah chuckled. "I've met Judy once, yes. She's very exuberant. Lizzie and Jenn combined, yeah, I think, and then squared. Ben's just being a bastard, as normal. But at least he didn't ask if May has sisters." He tipped his head. "I don't even know if she does."
He scratched the back of his neck. "May's older than I am by about eight years, though she looks thirty-five or so and god, she's tiny. I feel like a giant around her. She's a professor of music at UW. Has two adult children, Jason and Jae-Mi Song. You know Jae-Mi--she lives at Harbor Steps. Jason's a student of mine. I've only met her twice before yesterday--dinner the day of the announcement, and then at the Pairing Office."
He thought about yesterday, when he moved in. "She's very organized and efficient. Didn't hesitate at all to jump in and help us move stuff. And she was really nice to Logan." That counted for a lot in his books, spoke very well of her. "But honestly, I don't know her other than that. I can't imagine that our lives will intersect all that much other than at meals--I do know that she wants to have meals together. We still have to work out details about living together--who does what, when. That sort of thing." Noah swirled the water in his bottle, watched it move. "Also, she expects me to be a disciplinarian authority figure to her kids. To act as their father." He looked up at Jeff. "That? Is not happening."
