Her eyes scanned the reception room. It had the makings of a law firm, complete with a pleasant-looking twenty-something year old brightly greeting people on the other end of her headset. It was an extra cost, utterly unnecessary, and she made a mental note to report it back to HQ. She'd been there for ten minutes and it was an exercise in patience to not take charge of the way things were being run. Efficiency was obviously not high on the list of priorities.
Checking her phone, Vivian stood and made her way to the front desk. She flashed her ID wordlessly and smiled at the other woman's confusion. Yes. What would the Head of Security of the Pairing Office be doing here.
"What doctors do you have on call today? I'd like to see them."
It would be a courtesy, true, but that wasn't why she did it. The sooner she got to know the staff, the quicker she'd get a feel for the place and understand what needed to be changed.
