"Cooking isn't hard," Noah said. "It just needs a little attention to detail. Besides, if I didn't cook, I'd starve."
He opened the wine and poured for both. He served her first, and then himself before sitting down. It was nice to share a home-cooked meal with someone again. He hadn't realized how much he'd missed it, missed sitting next to someone, having a conversation instead of the tv or stereo on for noise.
"So when was the last time you heard from Jason?" It didn't take a genius to see that she worried over him.
