Noah put the pie into the fridge and turned back to the pilaf, giving it a stir. Turning back, he looked at Jae-Mi holding Spatula--he was almost as big as she was--and smiled. "I can hear him purring from here," he observed, "And he has a cat smile on his face. He likes women better than men. Not sure why, but who can know what cats think? Not me."
He moved to the cabinet where he kept dishes and pulled down what they needed, and set them as well as silverware and glassware on the island. "If you'd like to set the table, I wouldn't mind." He nodded toward the table. His apartment was open plan, so dining room, kitchen, living room and study were basically one big room, separated into differnt functions by arrangements on large area rugs. "Note that if you ask if you can do something, I'll find something for you to do. I never turn down offers of help."
