He had just left his chair to make sure the steamer had started when his laptop gave a little drum roll. That meant there was a post on the board. He hesitated, checked the steamer from the archway and returned to the laptop. Someone had replied to his tag about the giraffe. He didn't recognize the name.
Giving the reply a quick scan, he didn't sit down but bent over and typed:
There are facilities in sub-Saharan Africa and in other areas of that continent. I'm not discounting them, but they're besieged with problems that we don't have over here. We have our own problems, yes, but ignoring the risk to other species by being Human-centric in an invalid excuse. I don't have the numbers on hand, but I don't think the giraffe is doing as well as you might think. The fate of this particular giraffe is just an example, of course. There are many species that have only survived because of Human intervention. Considering some of them reached that point because of us, it's the least we could do.
And for the record, I've never been to Disney World. I think Walt was a psycho.
Jasper re-read it and pressed 'post', then entered the kitchen to check on the progress of dinner properly.
