Who: Jason Koenig and Jebidiah Jefferies. What: A night out on the town. When: January 23, early nightish. Where: Outside a club in the city. Rating: PG-13. Status: Incomplete.
The day had been long for Jason. He’d spent the entire morning on the phone with his father arguing about what he was doing with his life. Why wouldn’t he go ahead and get a career that would excel his future? Jason hated his father’s lectures. He would get serious if he decided he wanted to. Besides. He was already serious about something. Music. His father couldn’t see that he didn’t want that life. He wanted to be himself, not a money absorbed clone of the older man. Jason had gotten home from a jam session to jump in the shower and ready himself for a night out.
Earlier he’d made plans to go out on the town and have fun. Unlike some nights, Jason wasn’t going out with a girl. Sometimes he liked to just hang out with a guy and chill. He loved to flirt and anything that came after that, but he liked other things too. Jason put a jacket over his red shirt and ran a comb through his hair. He didn’t have to look to spectacular, but he always had to look good. There was no telling who he might meet or what connections he might make.
Jason grabbed his keys and headed out the door, ready for a good night out. The drive wasn’t too far and he made it in good time. When Jason got out of the car, he could clearly see the night was alive with people who had similar ideas as him. They wanted to have fun. There was no telling when they were going to be the next one drawn in the lottery. Having fun while it lasted seemed like a good motto to have in these times. Stepping toward the door, Jason took a look around for Jebidiah. He flipped open his phone and texted a reply to a girl he’d talked to the day before while he waited.
