The side eye was just met with a brow quirk. She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself (usually) and it wasn't like she was alone. It was better than going out on her own to forget, and they both knew it. Which was just the way it went. Though it would be interesting to get all three of them together since Sam didn't know her yet.
"Mhmm. I mean I think it was worded that they just sort of...disappear. But the inclination is there. And you would think since he wrote it for the sons of the woman he loved but... yeah. Kind of messed up when you think about it."
Still, Hook's telling of the story was even more disturbing than the underlying messed up factor of the books. And that was saying something.
