“You’re right.” Allison nodded, letting out a slow exhale to calm herself. A tiny smile formed on her face. “I wish I could be as calm as you. Even if the test is wrong, it scared me a lot. I don’t think I’m ready for Mason just yet. He’s such a sweet little boy, but I want to be prepared when he’s born.”
She nodded again when he mentioned that she didn’t smell any different. That more than anything else gave her a little hope. Allison knew that a werewolf’s senses were strong. If anyone would notice that she was pregnant, anyone other than a doctor, it would be Isaac.
Like a deer in headlights, Allison froze at his question. She wasn’t really sure of how to answer, or at least she wasn’t sure how to answer without hurting him in some way. Finally, she just decided to go for honesty. “I knew you handled Mason well as a child, but I didn’t want to scare you away.” She bit at her lip nervously. Obviously now she knew that he wasn’t going to be scared off so easily, but she was afraid that he’d be offended by what she’d assumed.
