The Negative Space: A PSL

They go somewhere else.

The multiverse is not a theory so much as a given; among many different worlds (or permutations of the basic same) there's the "negative". A world eerily similar to Earth 2019, but different. Almost as if someone moved everything a little to the left. And it is populated by those who fell through the cracks. They can see the people on the "other side", they occupy their space, but can't interact. Like ghosts. That's what we call it when we feel someone in our space, in our midst but there's no one there, after all.

It used to be rare, little rips in time and space that no one even accounted for. No one even knew the Negaspace existed until experiences in quantum physics made it so the tenuous wall between the Nega and other dimensions got torn, now more a fishnet than a veil - and then a lot of people got pulled from one dimension to the other. Phase shifting against their will, no way back home.

The Negaspace is as fascinating as it is dangerous. Familiar but wrong somehow; and it needs to be carefully navigated. Easier said then done, obviously. Anything one can imagine is probably around somewhere. Anything.
