Quidditch is a brutal sport, but there's a beauty to it too, as there always is in watching a well-honed instrument at work. When that instrument is a human body, it can be a breathtaking sight to see it move: to see the strength, speed, grace and fluidity of a thing that looks so similar to the bodies one sees every day on any given street, but is immeasurably more capable. There's a sense of elevation of the species: this is what we can be, what we could be, if we tried.
It's truly a shame when any athlete at the top of their game is unable to play, whatever the reason and the length of time. I wish Miss MacDonald a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the air and dominating the pitch again soon.
Meanwhile... well, the Fall Classic is looking more interesting by the day, and if it wasn't already sold out before I imagine ticket sales are moving along nicely.
[Private Notes] Bats back this week. Falcons were one thing, but at least high-scoring. Entirely different team against Montrose, and do we believe in coincidence? No we bloody don't. And really, not even an attempt to decapitate the opposing keeper?
Kestrels having a poor season (even wins uninspired and fairly low) but "improving". Or perhaps we just wanted Sloo to look good. Alternative, she heard us talking about her and it woke her up at last.
[Gwen] MacFarlane and Cameron. This is the mess you were talking about, I take it?
