The days are getting shorter, but feeling longer. However, they are infinitely better when ended with a game of catch.

I am honestly not trying to start anything the week leading up to the Fall Classic, but there there is a lot of chatter happening about Isla Cameron's departure from Pride of Portree. Especially among other muggleborn players, and even those more severely impacted by the war.

	I have not spoken with Isla, but is now on the docket. Especially as I am now worried about not just the actual details of her departure, but also any allegations that will and already are coming forth that it happened in part because she is a muggleborn. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Hard call. They're replacing her with someone with years of experience and who used to be their field-captain. It's not that Isla Cameron couldn't be a Portree Beater, it's that she couldn't be Oighrig MacDonald.

She got shafted, that's for sure, but the question is did they compensate her/is she happy with it. Rumors are ugly things, and there are plenty on this story already. I'd also bet she'll be back on a team this season.

So, I ran into Isla at the Tutshill match. She did indeed quit, out of pride and to protest what she thought was unfair handling of her.

She's aware that she's not Oighrig, but it sounded like she felt they didn't treat her with the respect she'd earned. And they didn't. They didn't tell her she wasn't playing privately or give her any warning. They just announced that Lorna was returning and was playing in 4 days. She was like "why the fuck was I busting my ass for them getting ready for the Fall Classic, when they were going to bench me half a week beforehand?"

So she quit. She expects to sign with a new team before Yule, so she's looking forward to that.

It wasn't because she was a muggleborn, or not directly. It was because Cavallero didn't tell her himself, before notifying the team. The whole thing went down over the journals, in front of her teammates. It sounded awful.

	So, it sounds like more an issue of professionalism than anything else and apparently the rumors and gossip really are worse. I imagine there could be traction to politicize it, but I'm not sure if that's the angle that anyone is looking to play or is actually going to work long term. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Especially if she finds a new team quickly, we get left holding an issue for a player most people don't think much harm was done to. It's best in a list of grievances later. Or if they sue her for leaking to Rita Skeeter or something... (Reply to this) (Parent)
