Even though Rhonna's birthday was actually the 20th, the party was the day after. Have Lorna known the match was going to be 37 minutes... they could have done it on the day proper. But oh well, can't plan around Quidditch. Today is a big day for Rhonna (and her Mum) as Lorna is determined to prove that she can be both a Quidditch player and a Mum.
The theme for the party today is: Dragons & Snitches because these are two of Rhonna's favourite things right now. Inside the main house on the reserve, it is decorated for that theme with purple, green and gold colours, hanging snitches, and The dragon figures on the tables ALL move and act just like real dragons.
The first thing activity for the wee ones is the tour of the reserve to see REAL dragons. There are dragon wings for the little ones to dress up, or they can be transfigured into snitch wings instead. The birthday girl is of course in her new signature purple/pink dragon costume (Which Lorna managed to get Rhonna out of so she could clean it). There will be plenty of dragon keeper adults around and the wee ones (and visiting adults not familiar) are all kept at a safe distance.
Once that's done, they go back to the house for food! There are tables set up with plenty of food both Dragon and Snitch themed (most of them sweets). Thank you Ainsley for helping out with some of the baked goods! The centerpiece is a purple dragon cake, and the golden snitch macarons around it. The wee ones have their own table and the adults have to stand or go to the kitchen.
There are games to be played through out the rest of the party! For the older children, they were encouraged to bring them own broom to have a broom race! Owen was also able to get a hold of a practice snitch, so the wee ones could seek the snitch in a 'limited' playing area/pitch. There were also smaller games with prizes like: Guess how many dragon eggs, Pin the tail on the Dragon, and Rhonna's own game of 'catch the snitch' which is really just reverse tag where you pretend to be the snitch and everyone chases you. There is also a chest of tiny dragons that have the same transfiguration charms on them as the bigger ones on the tables and these are the take home gifts for the wee ones (or adults if they are so inclined) as well as the wings.
