Scottish Challenges and Scottish Solutions
An open letter regarding the scottish referendum and the upcoming appointment of a Minister for Scottish Affairs
The people of Scotland have made their opinion loud and clear, Scotland needs a voice in government, an advocate, and most of all a government responsive to and responsible to the people.
I'm Graham Urquhart. You may know me as a war veteran of the Grindlewald Wars, you may know me from the books I publish, you may know me from the Quidditch team I help run, or you may know me through my wonderful children, Peggy, Alec, David and Rhiannon (Hi Kids!). But I hope you will soon know me as the Minister for Scottish Affairs.
The Urquharts have been on the shores of Loch Ness for centuries, and have a long history of supporting and promoting Scotland. In my personal experience as the Publisher of Whizz Hard Books, I have known and promoted the writings of many of Scotland's best thinkers and doers. As Lead Owner of the Pride of Portree, I have experience bringing many disparate voices and minority opinions together to make one team that gets things done.
My businesses have always promoted Scotland and worked to assure that people everywhere, no matter the circumstances of their birth, have a fair shot and a great start in the special world that is Wizarding Scotland. From our charity work with the Mugwump Fund, our decades of support of the Portree Foundation, the Fly With Pride Gala and the Vote With Pride Charity Quidditch Match, Agnes and I have honored the gifts given to us by Scotland and Skye and our many supporters and we've given back wherever we can help.
Now we need someone to represent us all, to make sure that Scotland's interests are looked after, to work tirelessly to protect and enhance the magical land o' the leal for ourselves and our children. I have the skills, judgement, and drive to be your Minister for Scotland, and I will, if selected do all within my power to bring the magical promise of Scotland to all Scottish Wizards. Scotland has challenges ahead, but Scotland has the ingenuity and will to create and overcome those challenges with Scottish solutions.
Thank you,
Graham Urquhart,
