Floo-Delivery Express (FloD-Ex) Parcel for Ainsley Galbraith
The package contains a wrapped gift with a note on "Macmillan Priory" Stationary.

Didn't want to send the Owl out in a blizzard, but I thought you might enjoy this. The stats .... aren't current, but the basics are all fascinating. Happy Christmas! -- RFM PS: Still working on the friendly. Perhaps not in the blizzard. But I'm going flying later if there's thundersnow, because I adore thundersnow.

Later that afternoon, he receives a package in return. It contains a key chain that changes between three different pictures.

There's a note included with it that reads:

Happy Christmas! Thank you so much for the book! I got in a bit of trouble over lunch with my grandparents, since I couldn't put it down. They browbeat me until I told them who it was from and why I was smiling so much. You may be getting a formal invitation to dine with them soon, turnabout being fair play and all.

If you're going out in this weather, please be careful. I'd rather like to go into the New Year with you still around.

Affectionately,
~A

[Once the weather gets more reasonable...]

I'm glad you like the book. I have no idea why it hasn't been updated and reprinted since then. And I'll be careful. Flying in snow clouds is actually easier than rainclouds. Snow is fluffier and less dense. And if you're lucky, Thundersnow!

I surf, I climb mountains of ice, I storm-chase. I hope I can face your grandparents. Who are your grandparents, by the way?

26 December (early)

My sickles are on a distinct lack of interest in an update, given the relative immutability of the sport. You get on a broom. You go from point A to point B as quickly as possible, and don't bloody well get caught by a muggle.

please don't mention thundersnow

My The accident that led to my needing to take a year off involved a severe thunderstorm, so I hope you'll indulge/forgive me if the concept makes me a little nervous on your behalf. I do hope you had fun, however.

Samson and Fiona Galbraith, of Glasgow (South Side). Grandmother is a curator at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, while Grand-da retired a couple of years ago as a promoter for the Celtic F.C. Now I feel as though I'm giving you homework to see if you can figure all that out... and to see if you still feel brave enough to try to face them.

I hold out hope, but I won't take your bet. Mamma didn't raise any dumb children.

I'm sorry, I knew you'd had some sort of mishap, but not the details. I did have fun, but I won't go into details. It's not as much fun as surfing lessons.

Ha. Between my aunt who is involved in WADA and all the research I had to do into FIFA scoring for my proposal to get rid of Hogwarts' ranking for the BIQL, I am sure I'm going to get at least an Acceptable on my assignment. Does your Grandmother have a specialty?

Also, how much do they know about the Wizarding World and what you do?

Best that way. I'd hate to take your money. And I'd rather stay on your mum's good side. Assuming I am on her good side.

It's fine. I don't talk about it if I can help it. Healthy coping mechanisms and all. Maybe someday I'll regale you with my Tragic Backstory, and you can see how silly I am about it.

Full marks! That sounds like a headache and a half. She was in British antiquities for a number of years, but has shifted her focus recently to "Modern Art". I don't really get it- how is a collection of bent disposable cutlery adhered to broadcloth considered art?

They know a fair amount, what with my dad and all. They usually put it 'round that we're privately employed and very busy, so that's why we're not around very much. Grand-da's always wanted to come to a match, but the Statute being what it is... Grandmother usually wants me to do various household charms, but otherwise we don't talk much about it.

This might be a theme in my family. are you sure you still want to

I don't usually bet money. And as I recall, I think I still have one dare on file.

I have been around Quidditch my entire life. It's a brutal sport and I know a lot of people who've gotten hurt. I'm glad you can play and want to play. And I don't need to hear about anything you don't want to talk about.

I don't know much about art, so I hope 'clueless but polite' is the best approach. It's my go-to stance.

I'm sure your Grand-da and I will get along. I've always wanted to see 'Footie'. I can't imagine a game where the ball hitting you in the head is a good thing.

And here I was, hoping you might not remember that. Or maybe hoping you did? Could go either way. Such is the nature of a dare.

It was such a stupid, random accident Thank you for that.

Mild interest also works. Yawns and curled lips not so much.

I'm sure he'd love to have you around for a game. I've been to a couple, especially when I was younger, and sometimes we'd run around his garden kicking the ball about. If nothing else, it's good for coordination- and discipline. A sport where you can't use all your limbs to interact with the object of play? "Hands, Ainsley!"

What do you dare the woman who wants to climb mountains with you to do? I'll have to rise to the occasion...

Those aren't really in my playbook, so really no chance of curled lips.

If I shout out "Hands, Ainsley!", I won't be calling a foul...

Something horribly mundane, I shouldn't wonder. "I dare you to bake nothing for a fortnight." Torture!

Sorry, my quill broke.
