WHO: Emmeline & Severus
WHAT: Dinner
WHERE: Emmeline & Marlene's flat
WHEN: Friday evening
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete

After talking for a bit over journals, Severus had decided to take Emmeline up on her offer for a hot meal, so they agreed that he would apparate to her flat at seven o'clock for dinner and perhaps some wizard's chess. Thankfully work had went a bit smoother that day, and Em was able to leave at a decent time, and without being puked on. Which was always a bonus. Once she was home, she began to prepare their dinner for the evening, making sure to make plenty so that Marlene would have some to heat up after she got home from work.

Pulling out the roast that she had left to marinate, she grabbed a pot and began to prepare the meal. After searing the meat, she added the stock and vegetables before turning down the heat and putting a lid over it. Checking her clock, she had an hour before Severus was due to arrive, so she headed towards the bathroom for a quick shower. Reaching into the bath, she turned the water on and let it get hot as she undressed.

The heat of the water seemed to wash the stress of the day away, relaxing her muscles and bringing a nice calm sensation over her. Part of her wanted to stay in the shower longer, but she thought better of it and turned the water off once she was clean. After drying off, Em noticed that her robe was not hanging on the door, she mentally smacked herself for falling asleep with it on the last night. Noting the time, she still had a good forty five minutes until Severus would arrive, so she just strolled out of the bathroom and back into the kitchen to check on the food.

"Alright," he conceded, "But I apologize for coming early. I can only assume my watch is not working correctly," he added.

He stepped inside more, finally finding that he could move, "I am still hungry of course. And it smells quite appetizing," he stated, looking at her again, thinking about her comment about walking about naked.

"I hope you don't expect your guests to strip down?" he said, now teasing slightly, and secretly, a tiny part of him wished she said yes. He still had the mental image of her curves in his mind and it made part of him yearn for something, something he'd felt for only one other person.

"Don't worry about it." She smiled again and took the bottle from his hands, setting it on the table. "Thank you for the wine." Em guided him into the living room to have a seat as they waited for dinner to finish.

At the mention of making their guests strip down, she laughed a little as she sat on the couch. "Only if they want to. We try not to force uncomfortable situations... Besides isn't that what the wine is for?" She teased him a little as she tried to down play the situation.

"So tell me, how was your day?"

'You are more than welcome," he said formally, allowing her to guide him to the living room. He stayed standing, long enough to take off his traveling robes, revealing his tall slim self, neat in black. He made an effort to brush his pants, sure that he was revealing himself in some way to her, after being stirred by the sight and the memory of her naked.

He sat stiffly, and found a small smile teasing his lips at her comments, "I would expect you to be plying me with wine right now, if that were the case," he said, relaxing slightly.

"My day was good. Very productive and busy. I make potions, you see," he explained, not sure if she knew what he did for a living.

"Well I expect it is a bit too early to be plying you with wine just yet..." Emmeline smirked a little as he sat down.

"I knew you made potions, are there specific ones or what? I mean... I bake... a variety of different things. So is your potion making similar in that aspect?"

"I know many would say it is never too early for wine," he said, relaxing even more and then straightening up, as he realized how he sounded, "That is not me, of course!" he added, feeling embarrassed. He was not used to these social interactions, and he felt unprepared.

He was relieved at her questions, "I make all sorts of potions. Some are lengthy in their preparations. And many are made to sell at the shop, as I expect you know. I have a spacious work area, and keep track of a number of potions at once. Of course, I made sure the ones were finished for the weekend, or they would be ruined. I suppose it is similar as to what you do."

"Oh I am sure you wouldn't say that..." She winked and laughed a little. He really was not comfortable in social settings was he?

As he compared his potion making to her baking, she couldn't help but to nod in agreement. "Yes I suppose they are very similar... one wrong ingredient, or too much or too little of something, and the whole batch is ruined.... Perhaps that was why I was decent with potions..."
