"South Carolina? You sure are a long way from home." Not that he wasn't happy she left home in favor of the colder temperatures of Pennsylvania. "I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't around snow for nearly half the year. I'm used to doing stuff up on the mountain with snow everywhere and I can't imagine living in some place that's warm all the time. Man, I'd live up on the mountain if I could get away with it. I try to go camping a few times each winter just to be surrounded by the snow."
Rhys couldn't imagine moving just to be around his brother, but then he'd never been far from his brother, either. Tristan still lived in Nearside with his wife and Rhys saw them about once a week or so. Even though they were close, Rhys definitely wouldn't have gone from South Carolina to Pennsylvania to be near him, so Melina and her sister must have been close. Just as he opened his mouth to question her about the sister, Rhys heard his name being called from the front of the coffee house.
After a quick glance at his watch, he smiled apologetically at Melina. "Looks like I'm up. Anyway, thanks for putting up with me while I waited for my shift to start. Let me know if you need a refill or anything else, okay?"
