Dae could easily see the worry on Key's face and assumed she unintentionally put it there. In the months that she had known Key, she knew him to be fun and lighthearted, but also a bit of a worrier. The way he had phrased 'NEEDED to see me' seemed a little off to her, then paired with his fidgeting? Yes, she wanted to talk to him about something important, but her request came more from her desire to see him than any need. This wasn't an interrogating and she didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.
Well, there was only one thing to do. "Come here," she said softly, reaching her arms up and wrapping them around his shoulders in a hug. Now that he was in her apartment, she realized just how much she had missed being around him. She couldn't help herself from stepping forward to close any remaining distance between them, her head resting against his shoulder. "I missed you," she hesitantly admitted. This was all so new to her as she didn't MISS being around any man, except perhaps her father.
God, it was good to be back in his arms. She felt content when she was with him, as if her day hadn't been filled with paperwork and stressed out co-workers. Every negative feeling she had just melted away until she was left with a deep contentment she'd never felt before. She knew she was making the right decision in talking to him and she hoped he might even have some feelings when thoughts of her crossed his mind. If he didn't end up liking her as much as she liked him, well...she didn't even want to go there. Dae might have been a strong woman, but she wouldn't be able to deal with being rejected, especially by Key.
"It has been forever," she eventually said, pulling away from him. "Which is why I wanted to see you tonight." Dae took hold of his hand, still needing physical contact with him. Sitting down on the couch with him, she covered his hand with her other. "I've been busy with work and we haven't been able to really talk since before the holidays. I want to hear how it went with your grandparents."
