I realize it's been ages since I last updated, but between my sore wrists and just not having time with college, I've been a horrible mod. :(
would someone else be willing to step up and help out with the modding and word of the week? I just can't do this on my own, sadly.

My novel is at a bit of a stand still although you wouldn't guess from my word count. How is everyone else doing? Word counts? Favorite lines? Frustrated already? Share your thoughts here!

Because I failed at updating yesterday with the writing madness that is day one, feel free to use this post to talk about day one and two. Share word counts, excerpts and any other thoughts you'd love to share.

Holy crap! Where has time gone? The hours are ticking down to November first. What are you doing to be prepared?
Also, if you haven't already, feel free to introduce yourself.

At the beginning October, I'll be moderating posts. This will be mainly to prevent an influx of introduction posts, because a)they're a bitch to go searching for and b) there will be a main introduction post where people can fill out the introduction meme/otherwise introduce themselves in the comments. It's just easier to surf comments than it is to surf introduction posts.

Should you accept, write story that includes this week's word as inspiration for a piece of flash fiction. Just so that your muses don't feel terribly oppressed, I'm allowing the stories to be from 1,000 words or fewer in length for the sake of completeness. If you wish to share in a separate post, please remember to use the wotw story tag.

Sorry for slacking. I've been distracted lately in getting everything ready to go back to College by the end of the month. So, because I've been a lazy bum about getting the word of the week up at the very least, here it is.

NaNo is still a ways off, but now we're going to start swinging into motion with writing exercises! Today's exercise, should you accept it, is to write a brief story (500-1,000) words using one of these similes or metaphors under the cut.
Make sure to make a separate post when responding.

NaNoWriMo 2008 is six months away. Has anyone thought about what they're going to write?

Please try to post your introductions here in the comments. As NaNo season progresses and we do off season writing activities, it's going to be obnoxious trying to slog through all the introduction posts and memes. So please try to post them here. Here is a form to fill out, or you can write your own.

Welcome to the NaNoWriMo group dedicated to helping each other slog through November and the long season before the next one rolls around. Please be sure to observe the rules in the user profile. If you'd like to introduce yourself, feel free to use this meme in the designated introduction post.
