Laine gave Devri a sad, wounded face at the insinuation that her intentions were anything but generous, but she could only hold it for so long (even if it was longer than most), and eventually it pulled into a smirk. “You have a photo of that floating around on your mobile?” she asked, wiggling her eyebrows. She knew Devri had probably just said August because the other option would just be too incestuous. She could show some restraint and not going for a more obvious jibe, since she’d pushed enough of Devri’s buttons today.
“Reckon they’d prefer we leave of our own accord,” Laine replied as she pushed off the studio floor, shouldering her dance bag. “I should be going anyways. The felines were out of food this morning, so I need to visit the market before I call it a night.” Scout and Miles weren’t prone to getting themselves into trouble in the flat, and she closed them off from the spare room where they could cause some real trouble, but she didn’t want to push her luck. “I reckon the showers in the dressing rooms are clear by now also.”
She made her way across the studio and out into the hall, halting momentarily for Devri, before she slipped into the women's dressing room and dropped her dance bag on one of the benches.
