Holding up her hand in the traditional 'scouts honor' gesture, Dev smiled as she replied. "I promise not to say a word about that, can't have any of the guys getting big heads or anything," she was mostly teasing, as if a dancer was going to get a big head they'd get it regardless of comments or compliments made as most dancers were self aware enough to realize how good they truly were. "Really? Mikey's great but I do not have a crush on him, unless you consider preferring to dance with him over anyone else crush worthy," she knew Laine was just trying to rile her up, and she knew she was sort of failing at not reacting to it. "Go right ahead, Mikey knows I adore him," which was the truth, so Laine saying something wouldn't come as much surprise really she was sure.
Dev smiled faintly. "I wouldn't ever expect you to dump a guy simply because of your friends opinions," she remarked honestly. "Anyway, from what you've told me Daniel sounds like a good guy," and Laine didn't strike her as a person who was easily fooled, so she truly did think that whatever she was hearing about Daniel was the God's honest truth. "Right, generous," rolling her eyes slightly, Dev couldn't keep the dry tone out of her voice. "Not really, especially considering I'm sure it's not out of generosity that you're truly doing it," she replied with a faint smirk, well aware that sometimes Laine was just looking for a reaction. "Retaliate with what? A picture of a shirtless August or something? Not exactly like I've got a guy in my life right now, remember," although she had a feeling that that had been Laine's way of saying she should have a guy in her life.
Glancing at the clock Dev caught the time and realized that they were well past the time in which anything involving the entire company was to happen. "How much longer do you think they want us to hang around before they start booting us out the door for the day?" Dev asked curiously, knowing that there was really only so long you could linger around rehearsals before someone said something about wanting by-standers to leave so they could have a private rehearsal.
